Unul din miracolele pokerului este cand talentul se intalneste cu norocul. Atunci se petrec marile performante, cele care raman in cartile de istorie. Exemple sunt multe, iata-le pe cele mai spectaculoase:
Dan Colman castiga 22.389.481$ in 2014
Oricine a jucat serios turnee Sit&Go Headsup pe internet, a auzit de Daniel Colman sub numele de jucator online mrge33n13. Dupa cateva cashuri in turneele live, Colman a prins un run unic: in 2014 a maturat pe jos cu oponentii lui in majoritatea turneelor pe care le-a jucat.
A inceput anul modest, cu un loc 27 si 59.300$ la high-rollerul de 25.750$ la PCA. Urmatorul rezultat a intrat insa in categoria "tunurilor": locul 1 si 1.539.300€ la European Poker Tour Grand Final in marele €100,000 Super High Roller.
Dupa inca o masa finala la high-rollerul de 10.300$, Colman s-a imbarcat in calatoria carierei lui, catre Vegas. Acolo a terminat pe 3 la WSOP 2014 intr-un $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Heads-Up, pentru 111.942$, dupa care a venit marele meci: $1,000,000 Big One for One Drop. Aici Colman a decolat in stratosfera, cu o victorie si 15.306.668$.
Si runul fantastic nu s-a oprit aici: in acelasi an, Colman a mai facut patru scoruri de peste 800.000$, din care doua peste milion.
In anii urmatori, ritmul a scazut, insa nu suficient sa faca din el o cantitate neglijabila: in 2015 a incasat 1.854.121$, in 2016 a mai luat 1.301.756$ iar in 2017 deja a reusit sa acumuleze 1.923.946$.

Lumea pokerului si-a epuizat deja superlativele la adresa lui Fedor Holz. Jucator desavarsit de turnee online (cu o victorie in World Championship Of Online Poker Main Event), Holz a debutat serios in scena live cu cateva scoruri din sase cifre in 2015. Insa abia in 2016 germanul a facut din circuitul live propriul teren de joaca.
Primul scor major a fost chiar in decembrie 2015, cand Holz a castigat $100,000 WPT Alpha8 in Las Vegas (1.598.219$), dupa care imediat in ianuarie a triumfat in Asia, la $200,000 Triton Super High Roller Series, de unde a placeat cu inca 3.463.500$.
Apoi, dupa cateva cashuri la PCA si un scor de sase cifre la Aussie Millions, Holz a explodat in Vegas si apoi in Europa. Iata parcursul incredibil al tanarului de 23 de ani in 2016:

Erik Seidel este un jucator construit din materialul legendelor. La 58 de ani, el continua sa se adapteze jocului si este in acest moment cel mai serios challenger la titlul de cel mai eficient jucator de turnee din toate timpurile, sufland in ceafa lui Daniel Negreanu.
Seidel a castigat peste 6,5 milioane $ in 2011, apoi 2,1 milioane in 2013, 1,53 milioane in 2014 si peste 5 milioane in 2015, apoi iar peste 5 milioane in 2016! Aceasta il face pe Seidel singurul jucator din lume care a castigat peste 5 milioane doi ani consecutiv:

Nu putem incheia lista fara sa mentionam pe Sam Trickett si pe Mustapha Kanit. Trickett a castigat 4,6 milioane in 2011, inca 11,1 milioane in 2012 si 2,4 milioane in 2013. Italianul Kanit a luat 1,5 milioane in 2014, 2,3 milioane in 2015, 2,87 milioane in 2016 si deja a depasit milionul in 2017.
Am putea sa-i adaugam pe Ole Schemion ce pare sa fie intr-un permanent run bun (11,5 milioane din 2012) sau pe Jason Mercier care a dominat seria WSOP 2017. Si lista poate continua.
