In the very next hand after Philip Sternheimer fell, Ole Schemion opened for 50,000 from the button and Alex Bilokur called from the big blind. Bilokur then checked the flop and Schemion continued for 40,000. Bilokur moved all in for roughly 330,000, and Schemion quickly called.
Both players had flopped a pair, but of course Schemion's was best. Neither the turn nor river helped the Russian, and he was sent out the door in third place.
Bilokur began the day as the second-shortest stack, but just by playing tight he managed to ladder up to third place for €119,400. Not too shabby.
