After a slow start to the opening night of play, Sam Greenwood leads the field through Day 1 of Event #19: $50,000 7-Handed at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
Greenwood steadily added to his stack as the night progressed, while Fedor Holz saw his once overwhelming chip lead dwindle in the final level of play at the Baha Mar Resort in The Bahamas. Greenwood leads the field of 12 remaining players that will return for Day 2 beginning Thursday at 2:00 p.m. ET.
Greenwood will now look to add to his 2019 PCA title in the $100,000 Super High Roller event. The Canadian holds the chip lead over Dan Smith, who is followed closely by Mikita Badziakouski, Jonathan Jaffe and Holz to round out the top five.
Late-night entrant Conor Beresford padded his stack to sit sixth in chips, ahead of Sean Winter after nine 30-minute levels of play. Michael Addamo nursed a short stack for much of the night, but was able to chip up through Holz and move past Daniel Dvoress, Juan Pardo and Christoph Vogelsang. The final entrant of the night was Kannapong Thanarattrakul, who rounds out the field heading into Day 2.

The start of play was delayed by half an hour as the initial eight players took their seats to kick off Day 1. Action included many notable names at the tables, with five players failing to bag a stack. Stephen Chidwick used two buy-ins but was unable to gain any momentum, eventually joined on the rail by Timothy Adams, Imad Derwiche, Ben Heath and Cary Katz. All players can still take advantage of the late registration window in this unlimited re-entry tournament.
Play resumes at Level 10, with blinds of 2,000-4,000 and a 4,000 chip big blind ante. The late registration and re-entry period remains open until the end of Level 12.
As always, the PokerNews team will have all of the action covered as the field plays down to crowning the latest PCA champion.

Michael Addamo and Fedor Holz were heads up to the river of a board showing .
Holz bet 18,000 and Addamo took some time before announcing a raise to 80,000. Holz then took his time before making the call.
Addamo turned over for trip jacks, and Holz nodded as his stack took another late night hit.

The clock has been paused and players will play three more hands for the night.
Daniel Dvoress opened to 7,000 and was three-bet by Fedor Holz on the button to 25,500. Michael Addamo then moved all-in from the big blind and Dvoress got out of the way. Holz made the call putting Addamo at risk.

Addamo's pocket pair was in the lead and remained there after the runout to double his stack on the last level of the night.
