Ulmer Sends One to the Rail

A player raised under the gun moving all in for 89,000 it was then that Timothy Ulmer on the button moved all in for 240,000 to scare off anyone else who might join in on the fun. No one else paid, cards were then tabled.

Ulmer: {a-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {J-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

With a {2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{10-Hearts} board Ulmer was able to deliver the knock out blow and win a nice sized pot.

Bonding Bets Big

Nivel 20 : 5,000-10,000, 1,000 ante

We caught up with the action on a board of {2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Clubs} to see Lars Bonding push out a bet of 151,000 against Tyler Kenney. Kenney tanked for roughly two minutes before finally releasing his cards. Bonding was able to rake in a nice sized pot, boosting his stack up to about 615,000.

Thao Nguyen Knocks Out Two

After two short stacks moved all in Thao Nguyen made the call in the big blind with the hopes of sending two players to the rail. After all the chips and side pots were settled cards were flipped and it was Nguyen's {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} that were ahead of his John Teel's {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and his other opponent's {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}.

On a flop of {2-}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} Thao's lead vanished as the player with pocket sevens took control. The turn-river thought brought {5-Clubs}{9-Clubs} running clubs, gave Nguyen a flush. With that hand Nguyen passes 600,000 and is a force to be reckoned with.

Color-Up Break

Nivel 19 : 4,000-8,000, 1,000 ante

It is late here at the Rio and we are taking a short color-up break to remove all the T500 chips on the floor. Play is to resume shortly.

Friendly Competition

Len Demchak and John Teel are two of the players still alive in our current field of 38 players. Strangely enough, the two are also housemates. Somehow they've both managed to overcome the enormous field of 2,500 players and survive to the final five tables. Both men have 10% of each other and are both rooting for the other to succeed. While they are both low on chips, anything can happen this late in a tournament, and their journey through the $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event makes an even better story because they managed to battle through together.

Merrifield's Might

With the field narrowing down small stacks are finding no other move to make other than moving all in preflop and hoping to double up and the bigger stacks are exploiting them winning these pots and adding ammunition to their arsenal. Such was the case when Steven Merrifield called the all in of his short stacked opponent with {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}.

Merrifield was ahead by a fairly large margin as his opponent held {A-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. The cards came out in Merrifield's favor though {j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, and Merrifield eliminated another opponent.

The Courtesy Double Up

Nivel 19 : 4,000-8,000, 1,000 ante

From what we can gather, Len Demchak moved all in and was called by one player. Bret Hruby reraised and the original caller folded.

Demchak: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Hruby: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The board fell {5-Clubs}{A-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Demchak was able to triple up. The original caller was clearly upset that Hruby made the preflop reraise, saying "You don't make that move and [Demchak]'s out of here".

Regardless, Demchak was thrilled with his situation. He now sits with around 80,000.

Rouleau Rides the River

We caught up with the action on a flop of {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Daniel Dasilva checked to Gabriel Rouleau who led out with a bet. Dasilva decided to raise the action only to find Rouleau throwing in a three-bet. Dasilva would have none of that, however, making the choice to four-bet all in. Rouleau made the call and the hands were flipped over.

Rouleau: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Dasilva: {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Neither player had a pair but both were four-to-the-flush. Dasilva's ace high was ahead and stayed ahead on the turn when the {6-Spades} came. However, the river brought the {9-Clubs}, pairing up Rouleau, thus awarding him with a massive pot. He now sits among our chip leaders while Dasilva has been crippled.
