Ziua 2 început
1 p.m. will be the time we restart event 18, the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em. Yesterday we saw a staggering 2,071 players sign up of which only 163 remain after eleven levels of playing.
Big names like Phil Hellmuth, Antonio Esfandiari and Jason Mercier gave it a shot but all fell short of cashing. There's no shortage of big names still left in the field though with Joe Ebanks (14,000 chips), Taylor Paur (30,000), David "ODB" Baker (37,100), Dominik Nitsche (37,100), Men Nguyen (70,600) and Shannon Shorr (69,800) still in the tournament. Also still in is non other than Phil Ivey who's making his first deep run for the series (71,100) and is guaranteed his first cash today.
Leading the pack is Chad Eveslage who bagged 134,000 last night. Eveslage is a regular on the WSOP Circuit where he not only made two final tables but he also has one win to his name. This marks Eveslage's first WSOP cash and it can only become even better as he has the most chips on a day we'll be playing down to a final table. Other big stacks include Dan Martin (124,800), Niccolo Caramatti (120,000), James Cho (115,400), Charles Clark (114,000), Jason Everett (102,000).
Follow the action today as we'll surely see some interesting stories develop. At 1 p.m. we start with level 12 (600/1,200 with a 200 ante) and PokerNews.com will be your source for updates covering the event again from the first flop till the last river.

John Bilthuis started the day very short on chips, and couldn't run it up. He busted in one of the first hands to Robert Deppe. It was an unfair match up from the get go as Deppe brought to the table, while Bilthuis had to settle for
. The
on the flop must have sparkled some hope but the
on the turn and
on the river failed to improve Bitlhuis' hand.

Action folded to the player in the cutoff who went all in for 13,000 and the player on the button called for less. The small blind folded and Josh Field, having both players covered, made the call from the big blind.

The board came and Field's eights hold up when he made a flush on the river. Both opponents were eliminated and Field's stack is on the rise.

We missed the action but just saw the dealer count Ebank's chips (14,400 if we counted with her correctly). Loni Harwood in the nine seat had to cut that amount off her stack and give it to Ebanks. Ebanks still had his in front of him which had made a pair on

. What Harwood had we do not know, but by the time the river was out it was the inferior hand to Ebank's pair of tens.

We did not see the hand but we see Jeremy Ausmus walking with a floor to the payout desk. He must have bust and that will be good news for the rest of the players.
Men Nguyen had an easy decision with his and he looked up Gerardo Murillo who held
. The
flop brought some sun to Murillo's life but the
and
didn't help him out. Even before Murillo had stood up from the table, Nguyen had already reached over to grab his chips himself.
