Event #19: $5,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em
Ziua 2 terminat
Day 2 of Event #19: $5,000 Pot-Limit Hold'em is in the books, and leading the 16 remaining players is Jesse Martin. Martin was the only player to bag more than 400,000 chips, sealing up 402,000, and will return for the third and final day looking for his first career World Series of Poker bracelet. In 2012, Martin, who was very fortunate to win a massive pot that eliminated David Paredes, cashed seven times and made the final table of the $5,000 Limit Hold'em Event, finishing fourth for $68,322.
Joining Martin on Day 3 will be a host of notables, including Dan Kelly, John Hennigan, Davidi Kitai, Dimitar Danchev, Dario Minieri, Bertrand Grospellier, and Eugene Katchalov. This marks Kelly's fourth Day 3 of the 2013 WSOP - he made the final table of the $5,000 Eight-Handed Event and the Millionaire Maker, but failed to capture his second career bracelet in both events.
Day 2 started with 77 players, but only 27 would walk away with money. Several players hit the rail quickly, including Noah Schwartz, Nick Jivkov, Robert Mizrachi, and the 2005 WSOP Main Event Champion, Joe Hachem.
Hachem got the rest of his chips in the middle with a red pair of queens against Kitai's black kings. The kings held up, and Hachem passed the Belgian the sugar.
Reaching the bubble was quick and painless, but the bubble itself took ages. Finally, after over an hour and a half, Marco Traniello blinded all the way down to a single T1,000 chip. He won an unorthodox flip against Paul Volpe to double, but was eliminated soon after that by Danchev.
Once the bubble burst, there were eliminations left and right. Nine players exited in less time than it took to actually burst the bubble, including Amit Makhija, Volpe, Vitaly Lunkin, and Ted Lawson.
Two-time bracelet winner Jason Mercier also exited before the two-table redraw, unable to improve his queen-eight suited enough to best JJ Liu's ace-six off.
There was a redraw at 18 players, and with the eliminations of Liu in 18th and John Roveto in 16th, the start of Day 3 will look like this:

Danchev:
Holst held as the board came , doubling to 285,000 chips. Danchev slipped to 217,000.
On the other table, Cary Katz raised the pot (17,500) in middle position, leaving a T5,000 chip behind, and Dario Minieri called from two spots to his left. The rest went in blind, and the hands were tabled as the flop fell .
Katz:
Minieri:
Queens held again as the turn and river bricked ,
respectively, and Katz doubled.
A few hands later, Steven Kelly opened to 10,000 from under the gun. John Hennigan three-bet to 35,000 in the cutoff, leaving 29,000 behind, and Kelly moved all in. Hennigan called.
Hennigan:
Kelly:
The flop fell , giving Hennigan an ace-high flush, but running straight flush cards or pair cards could still eliminate Hennigan. The turn was the
, keeping Kelly's outs alive, but the
bricked on the river. Hennigan doubled to 130,000 chips.
Dario Minieri opened from early position to 10,000 and it folded around to John Roveto who made a raise to an unknown amount. Action came back to Minieri who put Roveto all in and Roveto called for about 40,000 total.
Roveto:
Minieri:
The two were flipping for Roveto's tournament life and Minieri won that flip as the board came down . Roveto was eliminated in 17th place and will take home $9,925 in prize money.

The action folded to Jesse Martin, who raised to 15,000 out of the small blind. Matt Marafioti tanked in the big blind, then finally decided that this was going to be his best chance, moving all in for what looked like 30,000. Martin quickly called.
Martin:
Marafioti:
Marafioti closed his eyes as the board rolled out .
"Queen on the river!" Mark Herm exclaimed.
Marafioti's eyes finally opened, and he threw his arms in the air when he saw he had the winning hand.

Dario Minieri raised to 11,000 from under the gun, Dan Kelly called on his direct left, and JJ Liu three-bet the pot on the button, putting herself all but all-in. Minieri folded, and Kelly tanked for a bit before doing the deed. Liu quickly called.
Liu:
Kelly:
The flop came , giving Kelly a leading pair of aces, and leaving Liu with two outs to survive. Unfortunately for her neither the turn (
) nor the river (
) were jacks, and she was eliminated in 18th place.
