Monnette Scoops Bac

Nivel 21 : 5,000-10,000, 0 ante

John Monnette raised it up under the gun, and he was called by Sumanth Reddy and Dao Bac, who was in the big blind. The flop came {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and Bac checked to Monnette, who fired out. Reddy folded, but Bac called, and from there, Bac check called on the {q-Hearts} turn and the {a-Hearts} river.

Monnette showed {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs} for a pair of aces and a seven low, and Back rechecked his hole cards, and sent them to the dealer, giving Monnette an important pot.

Ladies Getting Short

Nivel 21 : 5,000-10,000, 0 ante

Maria Ho and Jennifer Harman came into today as two of the shorter stacks, and both of them have lost about half of their stacks so far today. For Ho, we saw her all in on the turn on a board that read {a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Ho held {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, and she ended up chopping with Eric Judge, who had {a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a better high.

On the other table, Harman was forced to fold after committing half her stack in a pot against Todd Brunson. The board read {k-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}, and Brunson fired out. Harman folded after 30 second of deliberation, and both her and Ho will need a double up very soon.

Goag Takes Three-Bet Pot

Nivel 21 : 5,000-10,000, 0 ante

A player in middle position opened for a raise, and Won Goag made the call from the small blind. Jason Rivkin made it three-bets from the big blind, and both players called.

The flop was {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and Goag led out with a bet. Rivkin folded, and the middle-position player called. The two saw a turn of {q-Clubs}, and Goag again saw his bet called. A {4-Clubs} on the river changed the middle-position player's mind, however, and he folded on the end to Goag's bet.

Ho Low on Chips

Nivel 21 : 5,000-10,000, 0 ante

Can Kim Hua opened for a raise from the cutoff, and Maria Ho defended her big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and Ho check-called. She did the same on the {10-Diamonds} turn before checking the {7-Hearts} river. Hua bet once again, and Ho thought for a bit before folding, leaving herself less than two big bets.

Nut Nut for Brunson

Nivel 21 : 5,000-10,000, 0 ante

Tony Ma raised it up in the hijack seat, and Todd Brunson three bet it from the big blind. Ma called, and Brunson bet the whole way on a board that ran down {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}. When Ma called the river, Brunson announced "nut nut" and show {a-Spades}{3-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for the nut flush and a wheel for the low. Ma mucked his hand, then slammed his chips on the table after.

Todd Brunson Looking For Bracelet #2

Todd Brunson-4th in Chips

Over 1,000 players took to the felt two days ago to try and claim the next mixed game gold bracelet in Event #20 $1,500 Omaha Hi-Low 8-or-better. After two days of split pots and scoops, Dale Beaudoin leads the way with 465,000. The only other player over 400,000 is Jason Rivkin, who will bring 418,000 into play today.

Two well respected pros are next on the counts. Can Kim Hua, better known as C.K Hua, is third in chips with 367,000, and while he has earned over 2.7 million dollars in lifetime earnings, he has yet to snag that coveted bracelet. The next player on the list is looking to add a second one to his mantle, none other then the son of Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson. Todd will have 315,000 to start the day.

Further down the leaderboard, we have a few more notables. John Monnette crushed the WSOP last year with three top 3 finishes, including one bracelet. This marks his second cash of this WSOP, and he will have 188,000 in chips. Maria Ho (96,000) is still looking for bracelet #1 after finishing runner-up to Allen Bari in 2011. Last, but not least, we have Jennifer Harman, who has two bracelets, but hasn't won one in over 10 years. She will have her work cut out for her, as she is one of our short stacks with 80,000.

Play will kick off at 1 PM local time, and we won't stop until we have a winner, or we have played a full ten levels, whichever comes first. Will one of our notables rise to the top and put another notch on their poker belt, or will a relative unknown rise to the top and start to build a legacy of their own? Stay here to find out later today!
