Daniel Negreanu was in a pot with another player on the flop. The player checked on the board to Negreanu who bet 300. The player called.
The turn was the and the player checked again. "I'm going to check now because I'm scared," Negreanu said as he checked.
On the river, the player bet 500.
"Why are you betting?" Negreanu asked. "Do you have an ace?"
"I don't have an ace," the player said. "If I have an ace I'll pay you $11."
"If you don't have an ace I win," Negreanu said. "What are you betting?"
Eventually Negreanu settled on a fold.
"If you didn't have an ace I win," Negreanu said. "I had two queens."
"I had two pair," the player said. "Ten seven."
"That makes sense," Negreanu said.
After that hand Negreanu dipped a little below starting stack.
