Event #33: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em
Ziua 1 terminat
Once the late registration of the $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em Event #33 of the 2014 World Series Of Poker was closed with the start of level seven, the participation was set with 1,688 entries and that would be reduced to only 115 after 11 levels of 60 minutes each. The top 171 spots were paid and the money would be reached on the first tournament day with everyone's eyes set on the first-place payout of $288,744.
More than 50 players decided to enter the tournament with 10 big blinds as of said level seven and two of them bagged above average stacks in Martin Finger (78,000) and Anthony Gregg. The chip lead Gualter Salles finished the day with a staggering 170,000 in chips. The Brazilian Pro already has more than $600,000 in tournament winnings.
Hot on his heels are Brad Libson (127,000), Vinny Pahuja (121,000), Shelby Standley (117,200) and WPT champion Sean Jazayeri (101,300). Other notable names that advanced to Day 2 include Mike Sowers (71,700), Goran "mandza17" Mandic (70,000), Faraz Jaka (68,400), Joe Ebanks (61,400), Event #24 runner-up Pierre Neuville (43,200), Matt Glantz (39,700) and 888poker pro Xuan Liu (39,200).
Other notable names were less fortunate. Former November Niner Marc-Etienne McLaughlin didn't even play one full level, Chengce Jiang shot into the chip lead very early on and then lost all his chips to Mike Sowers. Dwyte Pilgrim, Liv Boeree, Greg Raymer, Dominik Nitsche, Athanasios Polychronopoulos, Heinz Kamutzki and Michael Mizrachi were all sent to the rail far earlier than they would have wished.
The bubble burst towards the end of level 10 and two players split the first payout step of $2,005 one of whom was Joshua Sussman. Among those that reached the money but didn't bag chips were Dylan Linde, Iain Somers, Fernando Brito and Erwann Pecheux who all min-cashed. The young Frenchman scored his third in-the-money at the 2014 WSOP.
James Sudworth finished in 142nd and was closely followed by Amanda Baker and Jason Koon, whose flopped flush got cracked via runner runner.
Action resumes tomorrow at 1 p.m. Las Vegas time in the Amazon room with level 12 at blinds 600-1,200 and a running ante of 200. PokerNews will bring you all the action from the tables on our way to determine yet another bracelet winner at the 2014 WSOP in two days of time.

That's all we have left tonight before bagging.
Since the bubble burst fifty more players have headed out the door.
A short stack moved all in for 11,900 and Goran Mandic moved all in over the top to enforce folds from the other opponents. It was a flip with for the Croatian and the
for his opponent. With the final community card on the
board, the short stack survived.
