WSOP-E Event #1, Day 2: Guillaume Humbert Has The Chip Lead

Guillame Humbert - Our Day Two Chip Leader
Guillame Humbert - Our Day Two Chip Leader

After ten wonderful levels of poker, Day Two of the WSOPE Event #1 €2,500 6-Max Event has come to an end.

The chip leader was Guillaume Humbert with 541,000 chips and running him a close second after a wonderful final level was Phil Hellmuth with 401,000. It seems the WSOP Player of the Year race is not yet over.

12 people remain and we will start all over again at 15.00 (CET) where, come rain or shine, we will crown our first WSOPE 2011 champion. The action will revert to the Hotel Majestic Barriere so make sure you turn up at the right place.

Benyamine Wins Blind Battle

David Benyamine just called in the small blind but Guillaume Humbert spiced things up a little with a raise from the big blind and Benyamine called. The flop of {A-Spades} {J-Spades} {4-Hearts} flew out of the dealers hand and Benyamine check-called a 12,500 Humbert bet. The action slowed down on the {Q-Clubs} turn and then we saw the {8-Clubs} river and Benyamine fired out a very healthy looking 40,000 and Humbert folded.

Hot Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth has been on fire since moving onto his new table. He won four hands on the spin and grew his chip stack to 400,000.

In the first hand Azusa Maeda raised to 15,000 in the hijack and Hellmuth defended his small blind. The flop was {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {2-Spades} and both players checked. The turn was the {5-Spades} and Hellmuth bet 14,000 and Maeda called. The river was the {7-Diamonds} and Hellmuth bet 30,000 and Maeda called.

"Trips," said Hellmuth as he showed {5-Clubs} {5-Hearts}

Maeda mucked his hand.

Marton Czuczor raised to 11,000 and Hellmuth three-bet to 33,000 from the button and won the hand.

Adrien Allain raised to 11,000 in first position and Hellmuth called from the cut-off. The flop was {8-Hearts} {3-Spades} {2-Diamonds} and Allain c-bet 15,000 and Hellmuth had a think.

"Forty-thousand," said Hellmuth and Allain immediately release his hand.

Then finally Hellmuth raised to 15,000 and stole the blinds and antes.

Hellmuth's First Pre Flop All-in

• Nivel 18: 2,500-5,000, 500 ante

We haven't seen a pre flop all-in today where Phil Hellmuth was involved but in the last level of the day it finally happened. The hand was a huge letdown since Hellmuth and Czuczor chopped, can you imagine the show we would've seen if Hellmuth either won or lost the pot?

Hellmuth raised from early position to 15,000. Czuczor three-bet to 41,000 after which Hellmuth shoved and the Hungarian youngster snap-called.

Phil Hellmuth{A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Marton Czuczor{A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} giving both player top pair. We carry on with just 12 players and 30 minutes left in the last level of the day.
